Fact and Opinion
I cannot wait to get back to the library next week (I am currently on Spring Break) and do my new lesson with the kiddos!!! So for my third and fourth graders we are going be discussing the difference between FACT AND OPINION, but not only fact and opinion! We will be using photos and illustrations to discuss fact and opinion and what the main difference between a photograph and illustration would be!!!
We will start off our mini lesson with discussing what facts we see in the picture from my vacation! We will go over the FACTS you can see from the picture and then based on what we see what opinions we can see from it. By doing this lesson I am also going over different things around Chicago, because this is where I was during this picture.
Once we have completed going over the actual pictures, we then dive into our books and begin to look at illustrations and discuss different facts and opinions that we can pull from these as well. Students then chose books to check out and continued to look for facts and opinions based on illustrations.
